Eco Art Gallery and Shop

Inspired upcycling

Eco Art Gallery and Shop is the first place in Hungary that draws attention to sustainability and environmental protection through contemporary artworks.

The uniqueness of the eco art creators is that they are able to create artistic works from any discarded, forgotten material with creativity and professional knowledge.

In the Eco Art Gallery and Shop, opened in the Round Bastion of the Royal Castle of Gödöllő, we prove that there is no lost material, the aesthetic and artistic value lies in everything, you just have to lure it out!

By visiting here you can admire and buy the unique sculptures, small sculptures, jewelry, and consumer and design products of nearly 50 Hungarian artists.

We welcome individual and group visitors. Guided tour in the world of recycling is available upon registration.

The Eco Art Gallery and Shop exhibition is free to view.

Wednesday – Sunday: 10.00 – 18.00

Description

In the Eco Art Gallery and Shop, opened in the Bastion of the Royal Castle of Gödöllő, we prove that there is no lost material, there is aesthetic and artistic value in everything, you just have to lure it out… eco art creators are capable of this!

You will see how a bicycle gear can be turned into a wall clock, a car engine into a table, and pebbles into enchanting images. Scrap metal, screws, and nails come to life as sculptures. A discarded soup spoon is transformed into a bird, a knife into a bracelet, and a fork into a coat hanger. Driftwood looks good on the living room wall, but a backpack made from a fire hose is also cool.

Eco art is the meeting of art, environmentally conscious thinking, talent, creativity, and the desire to create, which creates unique works of art and objects of use with a serious message.

Eco art, trash art, upcycling, scrap-metal art, and trash-design works have in common that they are attention-grabbing, and attitude-shaping and also, they draw attention to environmental problems with playful and often humorous elements and messages. These artistic trends show the perversity of the “everything is disposable” attitude – in other words the consumer society – and are reactions to it, having the aim of general attitude shaping. In addition, they also show an example of the beauty and value inherent in discarded, seemingly “worthless” materials.

The creators give new meaning and new life to the material.
